About Us
My name Gwen Brown, the Support Group Leader for The Cleveland Inner-City Support Group, in Cleveland, Ohio, I am also a Peer mentor for the Peer Network. I am also a Primary Pulmonary Hypertension patient. Who has been living with PPH for over 28 years. I have been on almost every treatment there is for PH, I started on flolan, after all oral drug treatments wasn't working for me, I started to get worse then along came flolan. I was on flolan 4 years. Then in 2002 the side effects from the flolan was to much for my body to handle. It was decided by my doctors to place me on Remodulin IV and now I am back to enjoying my life. The one thing I tell everyone and I believe this to the bottom of my soul, and that is "I have PH, PH do not have me". With this attitude I can enjoy my life and do the things I always wanted to do and more. You have to take over your life, don't let it take over you. I do listen to my doctors and my body. I don't do or eat things that will be harmful to my body or illness. I take good (great) care of myself. I am Thankful to God and my Family who I have truly leaned on very deeply while going through the hard times. If it had not been for them in my life, espesially my daugther (kennie) and my son (justin) I know I wouldn't be the person who I am today. That's why I wanted to be a part of this support group and the Peer Mentor program so that I can help other people who are going through the same thing i went through. I want to show them that there is life beyond Pulmonary Hypertension. Our support group is here to help PH Patients and Support Group Member and their familys how to understand and how to live with PH giving them the information they need to help them are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs.
Please come out to our support group meetings. We need everyone Ideals and help in order to make a difference in finding a cure for PH.

We meet every other month on the third Saturday starting on December 12, 2009 from 2-4:30pm
